In the tranquil ambiance of her Sunday workshop, Aude Franjou intertwines strands of linen, accompanied by the subtle symphony of her materials. This poetic glimpse into her studio life reveals the harmony between artist and medium.
Today is a day of rest. But not for everyone.
In the workshop, a steamy cup of herbal tea perfumes the air.
Through the skylight of the Atelier, one can see the clouds whirling in the wind outside.
Linen strings make an almost imperceptible sound as Aude coils them around a handful of coarser filaments.
Almost imperceptible, yet this little sound is definitely there.
First, there is the thud of linen string falling to the ground after each of its turns around the filaments.
Then there is the rough sound of linen strings, taut against the leather gloves that protect the sculptor’s hands from blisters.
These sounds create a gentle melody.
Then, a ray of sunlight peeks through the oval windows of the studio.
Particles of linen detaching delicately from the filaments are twirling in the air.
Linen is sculpted by the sound of a symphony.
