In 2024, Nuit Blanche Paris celebrates contemporary art! On this occasion, Aude Franjou invites you aboard a boat to unveil her new textile installation: 2°C.
Why 2°C?
These two small degrees Celsius — seemingly insignificant — are enough to irreversibly disrupt the oceans. This rise in temperature and its side effects will have a devastating impact on the balance of ecosystems, particularly coral reefs, which are already bleaching and disappearing. Just days before these lines were written, a scientific article published in Nature Climate Change reported that global warming has already reached +1.7°C compared to pre-industrial levels.
This installation seeks to capture a snapshot of this phenomenon. Through a narrative and ephemeral lighting experience, a temporary reprieve becomes possible. 2°C invites us to reflect on our place in a changing world, on the urgency to protect it, and to restore its wonders.
Aude Franjou will perform live, creating a new sculpture for her coral reef throughout the night.
